Two simple words that have profound meaning. Every human being faces things in life that test us. Christians and the world alike deal with problems that we do not understand and may not think we can make it through. We look up to Heaven and wonder why it happened or how we are supposed to make it through this.
"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." I Corinthians 10:13
We are put through the fire to make us stronger. If a professional football player is wanting to get stronger, does he sit in the recliner and eat pizza and drink soda? No. He lifts weights to make himself stronger. He has to go through pain to be better. This is no different for life. We have to face the tough times to be stronger for ourselves and others.
"Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things." I Corinthians 13:4-7
It is love that can and will endure all things. Look no further than Jesus, who endured all suffering for us, as sinners. We all must find our motivating factor to endure. Maybe it is knowing what God's will is, maybe it is love for the people who love us, maybe it is simply the fact that quitting is not an option. Whatever the reason, DON'T QUIT!
